Numb Brain
I spent all of today and half of yesterday tracing cables because nobody has bothered to document where shit is plugged in. Tonight, I'll be working late to also clean up the Gordian Knot that is our current wiring scheme. I swear they must have employed a retarded spider monkey as sysadmin at some point in the past. It's the only rational explanation for some of the problems I encounter.

On the home front, it looks like my hand is being forced. The ex- landlord slumlord is refusing to return my deposit for some very flimsy reasons, including a claim that we've breached some as-yet undisclosed portion of the lease.

So, I'll be retaining a lawyer and starting up a lawsuit. Anyone that helped us move, I'll probably need you guys to send me some paperwork attesting to the condition of the house when we left. I'll provide more details as soon as I can. For now, just be aware of this eventuality and make sure I have a way of contacting you.

Beyond that, we're settling into the new space nicely. It's small and cozy, but in a good way. We've purged a bunch of stuff that probably needed to go anyway.

Overall, things are a mixed bag, but at least there's a clear path. I'm thankful for the clarity even if some of the details aren't pleasant. I am happy that most things are going well.
