2:18a - Thoughtful ramblings.
Its funny. I see the world and many of the subtleties of being human. Yet, much of the more "basic" stuff about our society eludes me.

Conformity is one thing that annoys me. Mainly the blind obedience to social norms and the status quo.

Why is it that most people don't question the existance of rules and regulations? Why not verify that those rules are in place for a good reason? Why not make sure they're still relevant to now and not some yoke of a bygone time?

This brings me to a related tangent. Why not turn this sort of probing, testing attitude inward?

Why do so few people actually WANT to know how they themselves operate with enough desire to actually sit down and figure it out?

I mean, its really quite simple. One part animal instinct, one part genetic predisposition (yes they are different, though related), one part societal influence, and one part unique individuality.

Once you have the building blocks, you can see how any action, reaction, and thought pattern is assembled. You can mold, bend, and shape people like so much silly putty. You can find all those weird quirks about yourself and if you don't like 'em, change 'em.

All it takes is some self-awareness.

I swear.

Though, I already know the answer to exact the proper changes. Complete societal reform.

Not exactly likely to happen.

I know how to do it.

I also know that almost nobody will listen to me.

Blah. I think I'm gonna go pass out and dream of a certain girl in northern CA.

G'night all.
