4:08a - Mmm.... late night stuffs.
Wow, I haven't been up this late in a while.
I just finished writing up the document I'll be filing with the courts to start my small claims suit against my former landlord slumlord.
Unfortunately, nobody has talked to me or gotten a statement to me about being a witness to the conditions we experienced at the house. So, expect me to be poking you directly sometime very soon about it.
I really need to get those statements from as many people as I can. It helps solidify my claims and will help ensure that I have a rock-solid case.
In other news...
I'm really enjoying my current job. Today I finished the tedious task of labeling all of the Cat-5 going into our switches. With that finished, I get to actually redo the switches and re-IP the whole LAN. Weeeee.
I really like working in a small team like this where I've actually got the power to get shit done.
We've also ordered a set of F5's load balancers. Those should be in sometime in the next week or two. I'm pretty sure they'll be a huge win for our site, both for performance and stability.
Unfortunately, the one Windows admin we've got is about as sharp as a wooden post. He also has the aggravating habit of over-using manager-speak. I keep wanting to smack him around and yell into his face, "You don't 'voice-chat', you just fucking talk to people, asshole!"
Oy. You know it's bad when I'm showing him shit about Windows server that he isn't aware of.
On the entertainment front, I've seen a bunch of movies recently, most of them good. I've played a fair amount of FFXI. Unfortunately, I've also had the usual holiday drought of boardgaming. I'm hoping to rectify that soon. Unfortunately the PBEM game of 1870 I'm in has also been slowed by the holidays as well.
I also need to get back to the range pretty badly.
Oh the things I'd do if only I had an infinite supply of time and cash.
For now, I think I should try to sleep at least a small amount.
