Mmmmm... happy weekend.
Saturday, I spent the day shooting guns. Lots of guns. Yar.
I think I've just about decided on my carry piece. Definitely gonna be a 1911 design. Probably the Springfield Mil-Spec, but I still want to try out a few more varieties just to get a feel for 'em.
The big concern with a full-sized gun like that is gonna be concealability. I don't think it's gonna be a huge issue, but there are some considerations to be made.
I think the most gratifying thing about spending time on the range was finding out that I am about as accurate with a real gun as I am with the ones in the arcade. }8-)
I'm definitely thinking of doing some more shooting after payday. Those of you that are interested, you know where to find me.
It's probably also time I started finding out exact info on the saftey classes that Wades and WSI hold. Also probably time to file for my CWL.
Sunday was a nice slow day. Had a great evening watching a movie with good friends.
I go back to the phones around Wednesday or Thursday. I'm interested to try a few things out. I've got a few ideas from the quality end of things that I want to put into practice.
Also, as a part of my leaving, our director had a few things to say about me:
"Brett. Never one to beat around the bush, Brett could/can always be counted upon to raise tough, thought-provoking questions. Such thought-provoking questions and statements invariably make us think about our own assumptions, perspectives, etc. End result? Most often, better decisions on our part... even if we don't agree with his point of view! Some might say that Brett is a person who "rocks the boat"... I say that such rocking is actually a good thing because it forces us to become better "balanced" (in terms of our thinking). As one who will ALWAYS be passionate about quality, Brett is moving into the Seattle Tech Support team. Think he'll be shy about preaching about quality??? Spread the word Brett!"
That's the nicest way I've seen anyone describe my tactics.
