10:41p Graphic Design and Website Development Help Needed
Hello all,
It is freaking difficult to find a graphic designer / website developer. I hope seattle can help me. This is the person I'm hoping to find:
- Someone available on an extended basis to assist with branding, logo development and original materials. My goal is to have the kick-off of this project done in the next 3-4 months. People who are good are usually booked, so I understand that and am willing to wait for the right fit.
- For the website component, I can do the updating, but need someone to set it up and make it easy to update. I don't need anything too flashy.
- The content will be political, so someone who is comfortable with that. Hint: If you identify with the Christian Right, this project will probably not be a good match for you.
- I'm very willing to pay a fair wage for the right person, but most likely cannot afford to hire a firm.
- I prefer someone local (Seattle) so we can meet in person.
Please contact me if you may be a fit or know someone who is. I've been looking for about 6 weeks and have struck out, as most of the people are either really swamped or not a good style fit. You can reach me at kimaginary[at]gmail[dot]com. If you have an online portfolio, I'd love to see it!
Thanks much in advance!

8:54p Drive-by Updating
I've got several plants and flowers growing (in pots) out on our patio. James is on a real landscaping kick lately. He bought a lawn mower, he's worried about getting grass to grow on the bare patches in the yard, and he's even talking about building me some garden beds. It's great to see him interested in something that gets him outdoors and more active than just sitting at the computer all the time. I'm also working on growing avocado plants from the pits. I've wanted a patio garden for so many years now. Finally I've done it!
I've put the job hunt on hiatus, because I am going to South Carolina at the end of this month for a little family reunion. Much like our trip to my cousin's house in NC back in 2004, only this time we are gathering at my cousin's new vacation house (which they are renting out to other vacationers when they aren't using it) in Harbor Island, SC, which is practically out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Plane tickets are stupid expensive for my trip, which is why I'm going alone, and why my mom is picking up the tab this time (seeing how I'm broke with no end in sight). Speaking of money.... Dubya's "stimulus package"? Not very stimulating at all, actually.
For the past several weeks, I have been frequenting thedailyplate.com. My profile is here. I don't want to ramble on here about my reasons behind it, but if you're interested, read my profile because it's all there. I still think that "diets" are evil, and that no good can come from totally depriving yourself of the "bad" stuff, but I'm really enjoying being aware of and, in a sense, accountable for what I put in my mouth. It also helps motivate me to exercise. And what's more, it's working for me... I've lost 11 lbs since I stopped the mindless snacking and started paying attention to making healthier, more responsible choices. I'm not going hungry, and I still eat ice cream and chocolate and stuff. Damn I sound like a stupid commercial... Anyway, I feel like it's something I can stick with, and I haven't felt this good about myself in quite some time.

10:07p A beautiful smile makes the day brighter
 Gremlin gets a hug.
 Illustration for a short story.
For "Learn more than one martial art" poster.
(possible illustration for Sykes-Fairburn book Shoot to Live)
 Part of a greater set.
This woman hired me to take the photos as wedding anniversary and birthday presents for her husband. By agreement, many of them will appear in posters and illustrations as well. Some will stay private.

I went by Guitar Center again, and they finally got me a set of cd players that work. I know what I'm doing over the next few days. Off to Fifth Column!

What the hell is going on over on Mercer by the QFC? I counted 13 cop cars. I didn't even realize we had 13 cop cars.
